Your Trimester Matters

Prenatal massage guidelines shift by trimester:

  • First trimester focuses on light relaxation with provider approval.

  • Second trimester adds targeted relief for back/hips while avoiding deep leg pressure.

  • Third trimester prioritizes side-lying positions for comfort, circulation, and labor prep, often increasing to weekly sessions as discomfort peaks, always with doctor clearance and avoiding pressure points.

Always consult your healthcare provider before booking a massage, especially for high-risk pregnancies. It's important to work with a certified prenatal massage therapist.

Prenatal Massage Benefits

Prenatal massage offers significant benefits for pregnant women, including:

  • Reducing stress, anxiety, and cortisol levels, which can improve fetal development and reduce risks of prematurity.

  • Alleviating physical discomforts like back/joint pain, muscle tension, headaches, and edema
